About Me

My name is Cigalle, which means an African Violet in Hebrew and a cicada in French.

I came to Australia at age 12 and had to learn a new language.
As an immigrant, I feel I can relate to the struggle my clients go through, learning new skills and I understand how hard English can be, as with every rule you learn, there is always an exception that goes with it. This is what made me want to become a Speech Pathologist.

I graduated from a four year Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Speech Pathology in 1994 at Sydney University. I have worked in both public and private settings.

I have extensive experience and am passionate about working with children who have language, learning, reading and spelling difficulties.

I enjoy working on articulation and phonology difficulties and I also work with children who stutter.

My clinic is based in Queens Park and I travel to many schools and preschools in the area. I love working as part of a multidisciplinary team and I consult and work closely with psychologists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, teachers and especially parents.

Being a mum to three gorgeous children, has helped me become a better clinician as I can empathise with the parents' journey and I can understand how busy life gets and how each child is unique and has different talents.

I love my work and get so much satisfaction seeing the smile on a child’s face when they finally can read their first word, say a sound correctly and understand a new concept.
