This video teaches students to decide when to double a consonant (cap→ capped, keep→ keeping). It revises the concept of short and long vowels and it teaches students to distinguish between a vowel and consonant suffix (such as ‘est’ and ‘ly’).
The video also teaches the dropping the e rule (time→ timing) although there are certain times you keep the ‘e’ (knowledge→knowledgeable).
The video gives examples of several exceptions and gives the student an opportunity to practise their knowledge.
